I wish to remain anonymous, not because I am involved with covert work for MI5, but because I want to say what I REALLLY feel without upsetting my family. I am a Step Mum with my training wheels very much still required, they are not my children and yet I am given the responsibility of co parenting them with Hubs (not his real name) I cannot imagine a more difficult or thankless job and yet here I am anyway.


When I started writing my blog I had no idea how many people felt the same way and not just Step Parents either. It seems that parents in general are not expecting the deluge of smelly stuff that is flung their way during the parenting at home years.

For almost a decade I have sometimes endured but mostly enjoyed, a quiet, child free home, doing just as I please whenever I wish, interrupted only by visits from friends and family. My grown up 2 bedroom flat has been my sanctuary & craft studio for 8 years where I could come and go as I wanted, leave my dvd's in a pile, certain they would still be there when I came home from work, eat when I liked & the only one who noticed I was late home because I'd dropped in on this or that friend or taken 2 hours to do my shopping was my cat.
